Conservation

The group’s conservation work is integral to the group’s policy and efforts in relation to sustainability. Areas designated as conservation reserves within the group’s titled land bank total approximately 20,000 hectares, accounting for some 23 per cent of the group’s titled areas.

Palm oil process

REA is engaged in the cultivation of oil palms in Indonesia and in the production and sale of crude palm oil and crude palm kernel oil. Ancillary to these activities, the group generates renewable energy from its methane capture plants to provide power for its own operations and also for sale to local villages via the Indonesian state electricity company.

REA regularly evaluates its approach to sustainability to ensure that the group continues to address the risks and opportunities associated with its expanding business and meet the evolving expectations of its stakeholders.
